There Is a White Film Over My Furniture?

Modern furniture usually has a sprayed-on polyurethane finish. This requires NO polish or spray to keep it clean, just a wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Older wooded furniture is often french-polished, comes up well with beeswax based polishes and a lot of elbow-grease! Either of these could develop a surface coating if the wrong type of polish is used, or if there is a damp atmosphere,, and especially if there are rapid changes in temperature. Have you noticed the white film developing on furniture stored in an unheated garage or shed? Furniture restorers use surface cleaners to remove old wax, (which is invariably impregnated with dirt), and sprayed polish from aerosols which always seem to be applied too liberally. I suggest you go to a store selling furniture restoring products and ask for a surface cleaner and restorer. Explain your problem and you will receive good advice because these people are usually experts.

Weight bearing glass furniture closed

Actually, those are absolutely Tempered Glass, Standard Glass has no lateral stability. And, any glass within 18" of the floor, legally, must be tempered glass regardless of thickness. I've had no breakage problems with glass tables in the past that had taller right angled legs of this rectangular fashion. Glass table tops slide around so you don't stress & break the glass. But, I don't like that bed setup at all, especially on carpet! Each corner should have 2-pieces to make a corner of glass in order to provide full resistance to both the X & Y axis movements. Sleeping & tossing & turning are one thing, but sex done right is another.

Before I clicked the link, I expected specialty 1-thick wall glass tubes or boxes with metal rods or tubes through them...flanged black or galvanized iron pipe & fittings, painted to whatever you want. Where to get thick walled glass I wouldn't know, but I'd just box-in the legs with small tempered panels siliconed together, being a faux support.

How can you remove mold/mildew from unfinished oak furniture?

Mold and Mildew Removal from Wood Furniture Cleaning wood furniture can cause irreparable damage to the furniture's finish if the wrong methods are used, so start with gentle cleaners, working up to stronger solutions as necessary. Always test cleaners first in an inconspicuous area, such as the back or bottom or the furniture, before applying to a larger area. To remove mold and mildew from wood furniture, first try wiping the wood with a soft cloth and a solution of water and a mild dish detergent, using circular strokes. Keep the cloth barely damp, being careful not to saturate the wood. Rinse the cloth frequently. You can also use a commercial wood cleaner, such as Murphys Oil Soap, instead. If the piece still looks dirty, try using mineral spirits. If the wood still looks dirty after using mineral spirits, the wood furniture will require professional treatment. Once the wood has been cleaned, the wood must be protected with wood furniture wax

How would forex works between medieval humans and the forest elves?

Wood-embraced coinsSince elves "embrace non polluting technologies" they probably won't ever be able to mine and craft metal like humans do. On the other hand, humans cannot play with trees and plants like elves do.A gathering of elven and human governors (or any middle-ages counterparts of them) could meet and introduce a currency which would represent the value for both sides.

Each metal coin would be enhanced by some "plant ritual" which would take the amount of work equal to the coins standard value or simply represent the coins value in "plant-magic way" - something we couldn't change . That way both humans and elves would be able to recognize what the new item is worth - twice the usual value. For ease of use they could change the number on the coin - 10 on a magic coin made of metal coin worth 5 and so on.

What's more, because of the double information, both parties would have hard time counterfeiting the coins and massive production would be much harder

How to repair wood furniture surface from chemical blemish?

Stain markers are mostly felt pens. You can buy a kit of various colors. Surf the web using 'Stain Markers' as a search term and you will find plenty of suppliers. There is some art to this as each stained wood color needs a very close match to look real. Some of these stains also partially dissolve the existing stain so they merge together. Go slow and do small sections first and check the results. Adjust colors for best match possible. Move the pen or brush in strokes with the grain of the wood, starting with the lightest colors first, then move toward the darkest color. Do NOT coat with a clear lacquer until you are satisfied with the results, because you will need to lacquer the entire surface for it to look right. Use a thick coat so you do not have to do it twice. Doing so can cause ripples in the lacquer

What should I do about a hardwood floor that's sagging between the joists?

Since you can get to the floor from underneath, you can shore up the flooring by adding new joists between the existing ones. This will not be a FUN process, but the process is simple enough, just labor intensive.First, add cross braces between each joist at each end, of the same dimensions as your existing joists. You'll want them to be snug fitting between each joist, and well supported with joist hangers. Now, between each brace, halfway between each existing joist, hang new joists to fit between the cross braces you added. Before you permanently hang the joists, prop them up from beneath with 2x4 temporary posts to force the tops up to be level with the tops of the existing joists (pushing the flooring above back into shape), then secure them permanently in place with joist hangers.

Add blocking between the old and new joists as well, to ensure the new joists don't warp/twist.See the pic attached to help clarify what I mean

How do I set up a home portrait studio area in zero space?

I'm afraid "zero space" and "studio" don't go together particularly well. Without space the lights you set up will reflect back off everything, filling in the shadows you try to create to define your subject. Also it's very hard to light your background and subject separately when close together.

This isn't to say you can't use your home, or get good results, just warning you will lose a lot of control over your light, and there will be some images you simply wont be able to replicate. Are your brightly painted walls a neutral colour? If not you're reflected light will be a different colour to your key compounding the problems.Clamps are better than stands for compact spaces, especially if you have shelves etc. that you can fix lights and gobos onto. A small background is a must, it would be ideal if it can hang instead of using stands as you'll be able to get it closer to the wall. Curtain rails are good for this

Alice has been shrunk! Will she notice?

Sound and light will be very different. I would not like to say exactly how the differences will impact, but the optics in Alice's eyes will function differently; her smaller eyes will not gather as much light, and as wavelengths have not changed there may be some chromatic effects. (Edit: there is a difference between a child's eye and a scaled-down adult-s eye -- children have much larger eyes in proportion to their size)Similarly her ears are now scaled wrongly for the frequencies she is used to hearing. What was a high-pitched note will be deeper, and she can now probably hear dog whistles but at the expense of loss of sensitivity in the normal human range. Also, as noted by another, square-cube means she is radiating heat much faster and her face will feel very cold. With luck she will not freeze to death, as that would spoil the prank. (And yes, kids do freeze to death where adults don't -- which is why babies must be bundled up warmly).

is there anything i would need to know before building a custom subwoofer box?

Atrend E12Dsv B field series 12-Inch twin Vented Enclosure with Shared Chamber is a physically powerful field for the cost for certain, becuase with the shared chamber your subs nevertheless have power as if they were hitting adversarial to one yet another, yet without the stress it cuases on the subs! i purchased it no longer understanding what to anticipate using actual incontrovertible reality that the easily different packing bins ive ever owned were sealed and they reason some extreme low beats yet lack highs yet also reason alot of stress on the subs and that i respect loud platforms so therefore ive blown 3sets of subs because of them so i purchased new subs and a clean amp awhile lower back and that i purchased this with them and they are truly loud! lol!! the easily undesirable ingredient is it doesnt comprise wires for the in the field (from the field connections to the subs) yet that became an effortless fix!! in spite of the indisputable fact that it nevertheless is a awesome field!!!!

Moldable/Printable wood-like material?

A quick search of the grand ol' internet shows that most people are recommending a wood fiber filler to be added to traditional casting material such as epoxy or polyester resin. There is a PDF available showing how to combine pecan shell flour(!) with resin and post-processing in order to generate a wood grain surface. My search results provided a link to an Instructables comment/query with a link to the PDF noted above. I've provided the link to that page rather than the PDF, as some of the comments may also be helpful to you. The first link provided in the Instructables article is 404, dead and gone but the second one is still operational. The document in PDF form is now a direct link and references a specific product, Smooth-on 320 resin, likely a product sold by the site hosting the document. The results of my search which were the most promising also referenced pecal shell flour or powder.I suspect you will get wood-like appearance, but not necessarily wood-grain like appearance

Folding garden chair assemblyputting a stud in the wood

The stud gets screwed into the wood piece by using a tool that grips onto the smooth cylindrical part of the stud. That could be any of the following types of tools:(Pictures from Irwin Tools web site. Other brands of similar tools available too).

In some cases the stud will be relatively soft steel and the tool could mar the smooth surface of the stud. In this case you can try wrapping a strip of leather around the stud and then use the tool to grip the stud through the leather. A strip of rubber can also be used but I have found the strip of leather to work better for this. The right most type of tool shown above can be adjusted so that it can firmly clamp onto the stud and then be used to turn the stud into the wood piece. The other two will gain grip while you hold the handles together
